Today marks World Heart Day 2023, a global observance celebrated on September 29th worldwide.

World Heart Day is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular diseases among people everywhere.

In the early 2000s, heart disease claimed the lives of approximately 17 million people across the globe. This alarming trend was primarily attributed to factors such as poor dietary choices, insufficient physical activity, and smoking.

In response to this health crisis, the World Heart Federation, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), jointly proclaimed the inaugural World Heart Day in 1999.

The World Heart Federation (WHF), working closely with WHO, undertakes various initiatives, including podcasts, events, and posters, to educate the global population about heart health.

The first-ever "World Heart Day" was observed on September 24, 2000. Subsequently, in 2014, the date was officially shifted to September 29th as the designated "World Heart Day."

Each year, "World Heart Day" achieves success through the collective efforts of numerous countries, scientific gatherings, fundraising endeavors, and more.

Maintaining a healthy heart is closely linked to consuming green vegetables, seasonal fruits, and foods rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Incorporating such foods into your diet can contribute significantly to heart health.
